This book tells the stories of their flight from Iraq, their memories of home in the 'good old days' and their continued courage living as refugees.

The book lets refugees, both children and adults, relate their experiences, and puts their individual stories into context with an unadorned account of what has happened in the country since it was invaded.
The stories are heartbreaking, telling of the terrors of invasion and the constant threat from militias, where even having the wrong name could be a death sentence. The book is intended for use with KS3 pupils and offers suggestions for ways teachers can use it.
